Use Resizable BAR to boost performance. MSI GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards are now available.

Resizable BAR (Resize BAR) is an advanced PCI Express feature that allows the CPU to access the entire GPU frame buffer at once, improving performance. To enable Re-Size BAR on your MSI RTX 30 series graphics card, you must update the vBIOS. Using MSI Dragon Center or MSI Live Update, this procedure is simple and secure. Updating the GPU firmware should be done only if the rest of the platform supports Resizable BAR. If a firmware update is available and supported when scanning your system, the software will identify it and provide the option to install it.



System Prerequisites

Resizable BAR is now supported by the following MSI graphics cards:

Graphics cards from MSI include the GeForce RTX 3090, 3080, 3070, and msi rtx 3060 ti


MSI GeForce RTX 3090, 3080, 3070, and 3060 Ti graphics cards require a vBIOS update available through MSI Dragon Centre or MSI Live Update to enable resizable BAR.


Navigate to Support in the Dragon Centre menu. Then, on the top right, select the Advanced option to begin scanning.


Navigate to Support from the Live Update menu. Then, on the top right, select BIOS Update to begin the scanning process.


After scanning, the programme will display any firmware and/or BIOS updates for your MSI components. Tick the box in front of it, then click Install and follow the instructions to update the latest vBIOS for your MSI RTX 30 series graphics card.


You cannot use the Resizable BAR unless your motherboard, graphics card, and CPU are all supported. In addition to listing the supported graphics cards, we also included the supported CPUs.
